School meals

The school meal is an important part of the day - both as a social activity for the children and to ensure that they remain healthy and full of energy. As a reward some children are chosen each day to sit on the "Captain's table" usually with the head.

School meals & prices

School Meals are currently £1.70 per day (£8.50 for a week). You can download the menus for this term from this page (see link below) and they are also displayed outside the classrooms.

If your child wishes to have school meals, please send the appropriate money on a Monday morning in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class marked on the front. Pre-printed envelopes are avaialble to buy from the reception, 25 for £1. Please also write on the amount enclosed in the envelope, and if you are only paying for certain days, please ensure you write on which days your child is having dinner.

When you drop your child off in a morning at school, there will be a red wall mounted box close to your child's classroom for envelopes to be placed in. If you require change, this will be returned to the classroom for you to pick up that evening.

If you wish to pay by cheque, then the cheque should be made payable to ‘BMBC’.

Free school meals

Free school meals are available for your child if you, or your partner, receive income based job seekers allowance, income support or child tax credit. To find out more about Free School Meals please contact Janet Marshall on 773513, or call into the Student and Pupil Support Section in the Phase III County Way building.

If you are entitled to Free school meals, you will be asked for proof of your benefit (at the County Way building) and then issued with a ‘Pink Slip’. This pink slip should be handed in at School. Please note that we cannot start your child on Free meals until this Pink Slip has been handed in at the school.
