Foundation work
Take a look at some of the amazing work that has been done recently in Foundation, or look back through previous Foundation work using the links at the bottom.
Weaving - Four Seasons
In October 2006 the children in Class 1 worked with a textiles artist called Chris Mitchell. During this time they explored the art of weaving using many different materials. They also concentrated on using colours which reminded them of the seasons of the year.
Dan and Lewis
This work allowed Year 1 children to work on an environmental topic, raising their awareness of their surrounding environment.
Shapes of play
One of the key aims of the project was ‘to influence playground culture making it more imaginative and creative’.
From the Front, From the Top, From the Sides
As a result of the ‘Shapes of Play’ project which happened in Nursery in 2005, the teachers and children wanted to develop an outdoor role play area in the playground at the back of the school. The Reception and Nursery worked with an architect called Phil Bixby and a visual artist called Abi May, from Heads Together Productions, our Creative Partners, to design this role play space.
Other foundation work
Not all our work fits into specific projects! Here are some examples of other work that has been created at the Foundation stage.
